![]() ![]() I still like the characters in Awakening, but the world itself lacking character was that game's biggest flaw. Awakening, while having some funny and memorable characters, felt less like this because the world itself wasn't particularly interesting. While the characters were only lightly touched upon, you could see how they fit into the greater scheme of things because you knew the politics and history of Tellius. PoR/RD were really good at this, mainly because the world itself was very fleshed out. They're still just chess pieces that are able to die, so they really can't make them that essential to the plot, but you can usually determine for yourself what they're like, who they're friends with, etc. Fire Emblem is a fantasy tactical role-playing game franchise developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. All of the characters have some defining element and usually a small arc/backstory in their support convos that give you enough to flesh out on your own. As for Tales, I can't speak on it since I haven't played them.įor FE, I think there's something to be said where they give you enough characterization to fill in the gaps. ![]() It's better than something like FFTA where all of your units are faceless drones. ![]() Hey OP, out of complete curiosity, what Tales and FE games have you played?
